Reunion Book Pictures & Privacy
Last couple of days to get me pictures for the Reunion Book. I will fix the Gallery so you can keep posting pictures on an ongoing basis.
On a related note, we've restricted many of the features of this site that allow you to share personal info and pictures to registered users only. That gives you a little more comfort that search engines and such aren't picking up family photos and your thoughts on fraternity basement life. It doesn't mean that content is "private" in the sense that only you or even only classmates can see it, since "friends" of the class can register on the site as well.
An old Dartmouth sweatshirt
This morning, as I got ready to make coffee, I happened to look up and caught a glimpse of my reflection in a mirror. What I noticed, aside from the two-day beard growth and dark circles under my eyes, was that I was wearing an official Dartmouth cross-country sweatshirt that I had liberated from David Lasher.
DEADLINE FOR REUNION BOOK
Please be sure to complete your profiles. The deadline is March 15th. We will be "grabbing" all profiles as they are on that date and those will be published in the Reunion Book.
Tell all your friends to get their profiles updated so we have the best book ever!

Our responsibilities in the world
Two of the most popular bromides about history: "History is written by the victors" and "Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it" came crashing together for me this morning when I read the Texas Tribune's article "Hijacking History" about the Texas State Board of Education's "hammering out" the version of American history that will be taught to high school students across the country for the next 10 or 20 years.
December Alumni Council Meeting
Report from the December 3-5, 2009 Alumni Council Meeting
(Adapted from a summary prepared by Brooks Clark '78)
This was the 199th meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Council. The council, founded by Ernest Martin Hopkins in 1913 to guide and support Dartmouth Alumni Relations, meets twice a year.
As underscored by Alumni Council president Janine Avner '80, who opened the meeting, the mission of the Alumni Council is to sustain a fully informed, representative, and engaged exchange of information and sentiment between the alumni and the College, and to enhance and inspire alumni involvement that furthers the mission of the College.
This report is meant to complement the wealth of information--about this council meeting and alumni affairs in general--available on the Office of Alumni Relations Web site here. If you haven't already, it's a good idea to save this address among your "favorites."
