Sharing Class News
The great thing about this website is that everyone can contribute, so don't be shy. Whether you made it to Reunion or not, now's the time to share photos, thoughts, and updates about what's going on in your life. Not sure how to get started? There's a brand new User Guide right there in the left-hand menu! It has instructions on registering, logging in, and creating new Class News entries. (Click Read More to continue)
Class News is the place to post news about you and your family and Dartmouth classmates. This section is set up like a blog, with the newest entries appearing at the top of the list. Anyone visiting the website can read the posts, but you must be registered to create a new entry or comment on any existing entry. A nice feature is that each person's posts become part of their own "blog" which you can read by clicking on their username. Generally, you should post to Class News when you you have something Dartmouth-related or personal to tell your classmates but don't expect to start a discussion about it.
To post to Class News, click on Class News in the left hand nav menu, then click Add new blog entry at the top of the list of postings. Give your post a title, add a picture if you want to, and create your post. You don't need to know HTML or anything. You can click Preview to check that everything looks good, then click Save to post. New entries also appear on the front page of the site.
The Class Forums are the place to go to start or join in a conversation. The forums are only accessible to registered users. We've set up a few forums already, and you can start your own topics. Feel free to talk politics, jobs, kids, philosophy, or reach out and track down old friends with help from your fellow '85s. The forums are open and flexible, but try to use common sense.
Finally, there are the Media Galleries, which we're still working on. Having a little trouble making it easy for everyone to add pictures. Until they work, feel free to send pictures to webmaster @ dartmouth85.com (take out the spaces) and I'll put them in the gallery. Don't forget to send a short description.
