Tina Helsell, a member of our class who later transferred to Stanford, passed away in Seattle on December 31, 2014 at the age of 51. For many years she studied, worked and traveled in China, learning Mandarin and consulting to multinational corporations and nonprofits on their China strategies. Later she embarked on a prolific career in non-profit management.
After 2 years at Dartmouth College she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in East Asian Studies at Stanford University in 1986. Her obituary appeared on January 11, 2015 in the Seattle Times.
