Our 30th reunion is quickly approaching, and if you are like me, you are probably wondering how 30 years could go by so quickly! With a year of Dartmouth reflection ahead, now is the time to seriously consider the legacy we want to leave behind.
As the new Gift Planning Chair for our class, I am excited to join our dedicated team of class officers and help nurture our class commitment to the future of Dartmouth. One way you can have a permanent impact on Dartmouth is by including the College in your estate plans, and joining the Bartlett Tower Society (BTS) – Dartmouth’s legacy society. Right now, the Class of ’85 has eleven members enrolled in the Society, and it would be great to double our membership by June. The class with the most BTS members at their 30th was the Class of 1976 with 14. This is a record I know our great Class of ’85 can beat!
How can you join? It can be as easy as leaving the College a percentage or specified dollar amount from your estate (through a will or trust), or naming the College as a beneficiary of a retirement plan (401(k), IRA etc.), or life insurance policy. There are other options as well, and there will never be a better time to consider them. Download a one-pager on making a bequest.
If you are interested in talking about the BTS, and how to join, I can be reached at or hobbsnc (at) mac.com. You can also contact The Gift Planning Office directly at (603) 646-3799 or Gift.Planning@Dartmouth.edu. Hope to see you in June!
